How Jordan Poole's Preseason Dominance Affects the Warriors' Season

Through the first three preseason games, Jordan Anthony Poole has been nothing short of stellar.

Yes, it's preseason. Yes, these games and these statistics are going to mean absolutely nothing at the end of the day.

But we can still watch these games and have hope that it will transfer over to the regular season.

So far this preseason, Jordan Poole has averaged 25 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists per game, according to NBA.com, on 52% shooting from the field and 44% shooting from three on nearly 11 attempts per game. Those are absolutely elite stats, those that would challenge Curry's best year.

However, there is plenty reason to be optimistic that Poole can keep it up entering the regular season, albeit on much lower volume. He has been identified time and time again as the team's hardest worker, and clearly it's paid off.

If Poole can average 25ish minutes a game while Klay Thompson is still out this season and shoot about 40% from three, it's over with. The Dubs already have a massive plethora of shooting threats, and if Poole can take over that Thompson-esque role, the league should be scared.

But we shouldn't just be excited about his massive growth for this year. If he continues to take leaps and bounds into the future, Poole could be the player we build around going forward.

Remember, he's still only 22. He has many years left in this league, and if he continues on his current trajectory, the Warriors could continue their trend of having very good guards for a very long time. If Moses Moody decides he wants to become a superstar, they could become a very young Splash Brothers-lite. If Kuminga can develop his shot, we have a young Kevin Durant. Juan Toscano-Anderson is our young Draymond Green, and James Wiseman could become the elite center our core never had.

That's the potential of our young core. In 5-10 years we may see a very similar team to the Durant years, and that would be a true testament to how the Warriors are just simply lightyears ahead.
